Get your body clock into a routine – It may seem difficult at first if you are used to just grabbing some shut eye when you can, but this is the most important thing to do to help your body. When your body has its internal clock in rhythm, it will be much easier to get to sleep at night and also the quality of the sleep will be better. Another important thing to remember is not to sleep in on the weekends. Although it may be tempting, it will disrupt your body’s natural routine and you will experience symptoms like jet lag which will make you feel worse during the week. If you have had a late night, have a nap in the day instead of sleeping in as this won’t affect your bodies routine.

Napping – Although napping is a good way to make up for the lack of sleep after a late night, it can make it worse for you if you have trouble sleeping in the night or if you have trouble staying asleep. The best time to have a nap is early afternoon and 15-20 minutes is the right amount of time. If you are tempted to have a nap in the late afternoon or early evening don’t – It is too close to bedtime. Find something to do which will stimulate your brain, phone a friend or go for a short walk.

Make your Bedroom Peaceful, comfortable and cosy.  Some people sleep better when they are warm so a good heating system within your home is beneficial.  If you want to get a new system or to service an old version one option is a Boiler Installation Gloucester company which could be found at https://redbridgeandsons.co.uk/heating-systems-gloucestershire/boiler-installation-gloucester/.  If the place that you are sleeping in is jumbled, noisy or over stimulating, you will not get a good night’s sleep. Your bedroom needs to be your own personal sleep haven where you can cut off the worries of the outside world and relax. Use relaxing and neutral colours that you like, make your own cushions to make it your unique haven. Do not have any technology in the bedroom, such as televisions or mobile phones. Both of these things make your sleep very disrupted as the over stimulate your brain and the light from devices cause your brain to think it should be awake. So, make sure that all technology stays out of the bedroom!
