A 1980s film festival

The 1980s is seen as a time of excess and over indulgence. The films that were made during this time are certainly no exception. They may not have the cynicism of their 1970s forebears, and they are certainly louder and brasher, but one thing they definitely need to have is a Home Cinema Installation Gloucester  or any part of the country, so that you can truly experience what they were like to see on their theatrical release.

Top Gun. The fact it was produced by Don Simpson and Jerry Bruckheimer should be an indication that this is going to be a loud and gung ho kind of affair. It’s probably the last of the Reagan era Cold War films to be made.

  1. A more hopeful and heartwarming film is this tale of a little alien lost and far from home and the bond he forms with a young boy. Also features a very young Drew Barrymore.

Terminator. Made on a shoestring budget it was the start of David Cameron’s career and begat a franchise that has spawned several sequels. It also made an established star of Arnold Schzengger and gave him one of his most famous lines, the immortal “I’ll be back”.

The Breakfast Club. John Hughes films typify the 1980s more than any other. Using the rising stars of the decade, collectively known as “The Brat Pack” this is one of the most famous and renowned. It’s fun, but has been also deeply criticised and is very much of its time.
