Do you want to be part of a fellowship of more than 190,000 women, then join your local W.I.

The Women’s Institute has a fellowship of more than 190,000 women and is a wonderful place to forge new friendships, learn new and practical skills as well as making a real difference in your local community.  Feeling like a unique sisterhood of friends, supporting each other, teaching others and helping your local residents.  Addressing important issues such as equal pay, mental health and climate change the Women’s Institute has been campaigning for over 100 years and made a vast difference in the lives of all women. Throughout the Covid pandemic the members of the W.I. continued to support each other and their communities, trying to ensure nobody was left isolated and lonely.  Helping to alleviate depression and anxiety they worked tirelessly to keep in touch with anyone who was struggling on their own.  Even if it was just a friendly chat over the phone or a wave from a nearby window, the W.I. really tried to connect with others.

Every member of the Women’s Institute has access to exclusive activities and events, gardening projects, sport-based gatherings, science and artistic shows as well as craft events.  The women gather together and learn from each other, teaching basic skills such as knitting, sewing, macrame and crochet.  Possibly using Crochet Blanket Kits from a professional company that specialises in Wool Couture they practice their skills while making practical, beautiful blankets, cushion covers, hats, scarves and other essential items for anyone struggling in their individual communities. You can spend a wonderful day studying your favourite hobby or join a reading group or book club, there really is something for everyone.
