Things to do this Summer in Bath

As we quickly approach the impending six weeks school summer holidays, you’ll be wanting to gather some ideas of how to occupy your brood during those long weeks. The good news for those living in Bath is that there’s a whole host of activities and places to see and here are just some of them:

  1. 1 Royal Crescent

If your kids love history then they’ll love visiting this Georgian town house which tells the story of life during the 1700s for both the wealthy visitors taking the waters and the servants who worked there. There are regular family workshops to keep you and yours amused and it’s a great way to learn more about this fascinating city.

  1. Royal Victoria Park

This stunning park is a real gem right in the heart of Bath. Spanning 57 acres, the park was opened by Queen Victoria when she was just a child herself. The perfect place to let your kids run off some energy in the huge play area, beautiful gardens and duck pond. You’ll also find family mini golf, a skate park and some ideal picnic spots to dream away those lazy summer days. With so much going on in the city why not take a walk  into town and drop into one of the many  bath estate agents like http://www.pritchards-bath.co.uk/   and pick up some information on properties for sale near outdoor spaces and parks.

  1. Fashion Museum

This is the most wonderful place to take little girls who love nothing more than dressing up or dressing up their dolls. This museum contains over 30,000 of clothing from across different eras of history but the best part is the dressing up area where you can let your imagination run wild and adorn yourself with lots of different looks!

  1. Egg Theatre

Inside the famous Theatre Royal, you’ll find the Egg Theatre with a programme of activities and performances aimed solely at children and teens. There will always be something fun going on during the holidays and there’s a play area for younger children and a place to sit and grab a coffee too.

  1. Victoria Art Gallery

Just because it’s an art gallery doesn’t mean kids aren’t welcome. If you want your children to take a break from the digital world and absorb some culture then head to the gallery for collections ranging from medieval times to present day. During the holidays, you’ll find family events, activities and loads of resources for the kids to get engaged with.
