What you will need in general:
- Measuring Cups
- Empty reusable Spray Bottles and Glass Jars
- Funnell
- Essential Oils (optional)
Washing-up Liquid
- 3 tbsp of Washing Soda
- ½ cup of Boiled Water
- ½ cup of liquid Castile Soap
Get a bowl and add the Washing soda, and then add a ½ cup of boiled water to the bowl, stir until the washing soda has dissolved. Leave it to cool completely, and then add the castile soap – once you’ve done that give it a stir.
Once it has cooled down, you can add it to a glass jar. Next, you will need to refrigerate it until it is solid and opaque, and then stir until the mixture has gone creamy.
Glass Cleaner
- ¼ cups of White Vinegar
- 4 cups of Warm Water
This is an easy recipe to make; combine the white vinegar to the 4 cups of warm water, and then add into a spray bottle, and voila – a simple, but effective glass cleaner.
General Purpose Cleaner
- ½ cup of Vinegar
- ¼ cup of Bicarbonate of Soda
- 2 litres of Water
This general-purpose cleaner recipe is easy peasy; once you have all of the ingredients, just mix together, and add to an empty spray bottle.
Oven Cleaner
- ½ cup of Baking Soda
- 2 – 3 tbsp of Water
- ½ cup of White Vinegar
Mix together the baking soda and the 2 – 3 tbsp of water in a bowl, and then mix until a spreadable paste forms. Make sure not to add too much water at first so you can build up the paste mixture, add more water gradually if needed.
It is now ready to spread over your oven walls, make sure to rub it in to create a scrubbing effect, once you have done that you can then leave overnight. In the morning spray some white vinegar on the walls of your oven where the paste is sitting, this will allow the paste to foam up. Wipe clean with a cloth, and rinse until the walls are sparkling clean.
Add essential oils to these mixtures to take away any strong smells. You can even use lemon or orange peels to soak in the mixture to create a nice natural fruity scent.
